Trophies will be awarded by a panel of Judges for:

Best Chili with beans
Best Chili without beans
Best Alternachili

Freaks’ Choice and Best Ambience awards will be voted on by the attendees.
Ambience is your showmanship and cooking area decor.

The prestigious Official’s Official Favorite Award will be awarded by the
Official Official.

Entries are limited to the first 30 cooks/cooking teams that request entry
by emailing susan.e.bryant@gmail.com.

Tasters bowls will be available for a suggested 5 dollar donation to Mo.

All Chili must be cooked on-site and Chili cooks or teams must supply all
supplies for preparing their chili.
This includes tables, stoves, fuel, utensils,
ingredients, and ambience.

All ingredients must be inspected by the Official before cooking starts.
Meats must be raw.
Canned ingredients are OK.
Pre-homecooked beans, tomatoes, etc., are OK.
Pre-packaged chili mixes are not.
Based on previous events, I recommend that each kitchen start with 4-5
lbs. of meat or main ingredient. Make a BIG ole pot of Chili.

Inspection of ingredients and kitchen set up will begin at 11:00 noon.
Judging will begin at 4:00 P.M.

Official Official’s ruling is final, in case of disputes.

I’ll need a panel of  9 judges. This is a very good and very bad job.
The good news is you get to taste all entries at one table, vote on your
favorites, and determine winners. The bad part is judges cannot mingle
among the kitchens and crowds during the preparation part of the event.
They can’t visit kitchens, smell the concoctions, and generally mingle.
They must remain in the judges area. They will be able to see events, be
visited by non-bribery related visitors, and generally enjoy themselves.
Judges also receive a small gift. If you’d like to be a judge, email
susan.e.bryant@gmail.com SOON!
Warning: all judges must taste ALL samples. Most will include meat.

Non-cooks are encouraged to attend, mingle, party, and watch the kitchens
prepare, then, after the kitchens submit their entry, taste the various
Chilis, then cast their ballot for their favorite and watch the award
ceremony.

Bring your own beverages.

This  event is a fund raiser for Mo.
This is a leave no trace event.
